Also I neglected to add Gene "Pickles" Hoglan (I know... a sin to forget him) and Dave Lombardo.

Still I think my "Be all, end all" drummer of choice would still be Schuler. I hear he lives here in NJ too, so maybe some day it'll actually happen (dare I dream). That guys KILLS IT w/his hip-hop/hardcore beats.

Colaiuta's cool but too complex for me. Carmine Appice is nice and Cozy Powell was great. Narada still has a nice groove. The two guys whose groove I really like to listen right now and who I'd love to jam with are Ernest Carter (he played with David Sancious, he's worth to check out on YouTube) and Steve Jordan. I also like Josh Freese.

I love Simon Phillips' drumming. He was recently on tour with Eddie Jobson. I also have lots of stuff with his drumming on CD, even some obscure stuff. Check out the Phil Manzanera/801 - Live album. I saw this guy a few times with Toto and Lukather/Los Lobotomys.
Great player who still can kick ass.
