Decided to learn bass as an Army retirement gift to myself in 2011. Took lessons for a summer while unemployed (awesome break from all the years of crazy). Auditioned as a bassist at a large / mega Church I attend in Georgia. I hit the ground running and have never looked back. Was invited to audition / form a classic rock cover band with some pretty talented old rockers. Several guitars, amps, and pedals later, I am having the time of my life.
I have read posts on this site for a few years and finally joined this week. I have no idea why I didn't before. Between this site and Scott's Bass Lessons online, I hardly look at anything else on the internet.
Thank you everybody for sharing your knowledge and experience all these years. This site is amazing, and I couldn't be half the player (or understand my equipment) if not for effort of the Talkbass administrators and members. My current gear is in my signature block.
