A good combo for home practice

Hey guys, I'm planning to buy a combo amp for home practice. Budget's about $500.

Any good ones to recommend? Some features I'm looking out for would be:

- More than 75w in power rating
- 12 inch speaker or bigger
- Balanced line out (DI out would be even better!)

I like warm, vintage, fat tones. Like James Jamerson or John Deacon. Look forward to your recommendations!

If it's just for home use, the Roland Cube 100 would be a great choice. On the "Flip Top" model, it sounds like a 12" version of the Ampeg B100-R, and the Super Flat model is a fantastic all-around tone. The balanced XLR output is very good too, with DI/line out options, so you can send the amp models and effects to a recorder or PA if you want.

If gigs might be on the horizon, and you might not have PA support, that G-K MB115 would be better. The Roland works great as a stage monitor if you do have PA support, and it's much louder than any 100 watt 1x12" combo has a right to be.

Yes, this amp will be used for home practice only. I generally don't play outside and when I do, its usually at my company's internal events where we get PA support.

I'll check out the GK and Roland since I know for sure that they have dealers in Singapore, but I'm not confident of getting a shot at the Ampeg or Acoustic. :(
