If they could get away without needing a bassist, they would. If you are at all audible, you're too loud. If you're not standing in the back of the stage, you're in the way of them entertaining the crowd.

2-3 guys saying "Waaaah guitarists are mean to me!" = tiny bit of superduperbutthurt

1000 other replies saying "Most everybody I ever play with are completly cool with bassists" = tons of not butthurt

Guitarists think bassists are stupid, failed guitarists. I am not joking. Anything that sounds off is the bass. They think bassists are too lazy to learn their parts and too lazy to change their strings. If they could get away without needing a bassist, they would. If you are at all audible, you're too loud. If you're not standing in the back of the stage, you're in the way of them entertaining the crowd.

I've never had any of these issues and as a primary vocalist as well I'm never standing "back of stage".

I'm not sure where this thinking comes from but it's not something I've encountered personally nor has my attitude been this way when I've been asked to be a guitarist. It surprises me that any pro or semi-pro musician would ever think this way.
