A Little Roscoe Fun

Though the Teal looks really nice, this one makes my loins burn.

I've got several recent Roscoe arrivals that I've finally gotten around to photographing. Here's the first of them!

Such a beautiful bass, the Paduk board is really something. Gard steered me wisely on that aesthetic choice! Gracias, El Gardo.

Beautiful bass as always. I look around and debate trying something else - Fender, G&L, some other "P" type bass - just to change things up a bit, but I have a hard time finding anything I like the look, feel or sound of better than a Roscoe. My wife loves the sound of Pino playing his "Pino" bass on that John Mayer "Where the Light Is" concert. I'd like to try one but holy crap, $3,000+ for a USED one? A Passive 4 string P bass? I could almost get 2 used Roscoes for that.

Sorry, I got distracted there for a minute.

Gard and Keith were kind enough to offer to Plek the basses that I have in inventory that were built before they got the Plek machine, so I'm going to slowly but surely run them all back through the Roscoe shop in Greensboro. I took several down there this weekend, and while I was at it I figured that I should probably have my personal Roscoe Plek'd. Pretty cool to see them jumping right on it, they just posted the photo below on facebook.

The cheeseburger note in the neck pocket is pretty funny. While that bass was being made, I went to Gard's house for a super bowl party. The Steeler's James Harrison ran an interception back 99 yards, and promptly collapsed in the end zone. I said something to the effect of "I bet he really wants a cheeseburger right now. Cheeze **gasp** bur **gasp** ger"

Packages I received from Greensboro were addressed to Cheezeburger for the longest time after that. And it cracks me up to see that joke immortalized in the neck pocket of my bass.

The most logical way (to me) would be to send your Lull in and have him route it and make a new pickguard. That way you can have both options in the same bass.

Yep, that's the plan that I gravitate towards. I've got a Honey Badger P pickup coming my way that I want to install in the Lull and see what happens, and then I'll go from there...
