A new and improved "ignore" feature

To block entire forums from new posts searches, go to your profile, then on the left, click on "settings". Down near the bottom of the list is a link called "ignore new posts". In the next window, click all the boxes of forums you do NOT want to see results from when you click on "New Posts". It's a really great feature.
It saves some of us lots of money :) .

This is good thanks!

I've got it setup to show what I want now, but I have to click on "New Posts" after I go to the TalkBass home page for the filtering to actually happen.

Is there any way to make it so that "New Posts" is loaded by default - instead of the tabs "Active Today", "Latest Posts", etc?

@phillipkregg - Im not sure what you mean. Mine seems to update itself all the time as far as I know.

For me, the filtering only seems to work on "New Posts".

The Talkbass home page doesn't apply my filters and shows content from "Active Today" whether or not it's in my list of stuff not to show. It's not a big issue, I can just bookmark the "New Posts" page, just wanted to see if there was a way to just use the same filters on the main home page.

Yeah I went ahead and did that... just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some additional ways to filter the home page itself.
You might want to check that you're not subscribed to any of the threads that keep showing up. Though I'm not even sure I understand the issue that you're having :). Classifieds don't show up in my new posts feed.

Another thought though, as I just double checked to be sure :)...

I just realized that I get classifieds from the DB side because I never blocked those. You might be getting posts from the DB side and not realizing it.

I definitely use the Ignore feature. I think it makes TB much more enjoyable. My only desire is to not see threads started by that user. Sometimes I'll see threads that make no sense. It's because the first, OP that I see is from the first comment, not the OP.

If someone asked me to list forums that don't need the ignore feature, I would only have TB on the list. Civility is very high on these forums compared to the norm on the Internet. I don't think we need one. It's a solution in search of a problem. Therefore, let's not create the problem!
