A problem with A string

[Diablo16]

I have Cort GB-99 witch I bought 5 days ago, and when I play on A string It just doesn't sound right.
When i play 0 on A string it sounds the same as when I play 3 on E string.

So if I want it to sound right i have to play 3 notes higher then usual, for instance, the song Blitzkrieg Bop from the Ramones I should play it like this:
G:----------------------------------|
D:----------------------------------|
A:-----------------5-5-5-7-7-7-7-7-|
E:-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-----------------|

but it doesn't sound right, so I play It like this:

G:----------------------------------|
D:----------------------------------|
A:-----------------7-7-7-9-9-9-9-9-|
E:-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-----------------|

Please help, because It really gets on my nerve and I don't know what to do

Yes It is my first bass, I tuned it, but I just don't know what's the problem

Did you use an electronic tuner? the A strings is flat and needs tightening so that it sounds like the E string fretted at the 5th fret.

well, I did as you said and its ok now, thanks, I am beginner so I didn't know

Great....make sure the D string is tuned to the A string fretted on the 5th fret and the G string is tuned to the D string fretted on 5th fret. If you don't have an electronic tuner it would be good to get one of those.
