A question for my fellow Tech 21 Bass Driver v2 users

I have a few days until next band practice, and as I always tend to do, I'm tweaking something with my board. Apparently I'm allergic to stability?

I'm toying with the blend and bass controls on my BDDI v2. I'm finding that with my P bass, I'm enjoying cutting the bass at 40hz and cranking the blend - similar to the sample setting for the Fender Bassman. I'd like to test this out in practice this week, but that's several... or worse... many days from now. In the meantime, I'm curious if anyone else uses the BDDI v2 with a bass cut / tube amp emulation boost in a live mix?

Makes sense to me but I use the v1. I have to knock-down the bass to 11:00 or lower to maintain some articulation. No blend for me, though.

I use a para but usually have the bass flat or cut it occasionally.

I cut bass (set at 40 hZ), it’s set around 11 o clock. My blend is at 1 o clock. I use LPF/HPF before it though, to start shaping my “cab emulation” tone, so I don’t need to crank the blend knob on the BDDI.

I used the BDDI v1 „always-on“ for over 30 years with several instruments, passiv and active. Bass was mostly around 11h to noon. The exact parameter shapes change individually over time, bass, mood and musical context but n ever without my ears I never considered the „presets“ besides maybe a starting point.
The v2 on my second board acts as a optinional drive fed from a fet-amp upfront. Same thing there - noodling the knobs by ear. Bass @80Hz / 13h in the moment.
But it always depends on the instrument used…

I usually cut the lows a bit and crank the mids control up a tad. Apart from that, I always start with everything at 12, including blend and drive, before adjusting drive/blend to the band. I still don't exactly know what Presence does.

At the rehearsal, with all your band playing, try the SVT preset and maybe also try the Fender Bassman. We know nothing of the rehearsal space, the amps, PA or the other instruments, so for this advice i go with what works on the gig for me. Bedroom tweaking not necessary pre-rehearsal. What you like at home and what works on the gig may not be the same thing. It has to work on the gig.

And that's why I'm asking. Just seeing how many people use the 40hz bass cut in a full band environment.

My fave pbass setting was 11 o'clock for bass and 1-2 o'clock for the blend - can't stand the full-on tube emulation and need a good amount of the direct signal before my amp.

And that's why I'm asking. Just seeing how many people use the 40hz bass cut in a full band environment.

Ah okay. Well that depends if you are clashing with the bass drum around that freq and don't want that. Usually I would rather boost the 80 hz if so, with that knob

Pretty sure that's a blend control. Fine piece of gear though. Had one until about 5 years ago.

You are correct...I had it confused with my v1 Bass Fly Rig. Right church...wrong pew.
