Can't wait to see what Eddie has to say about this.
I just hope this dream ends nicely - the current one is filled with ***holes who think they are bass players.

I think of reality as our group consciousness, and it apparently is pretty close to the same for everybody. Max Planck is pretty much dead on - you need consciousness to have or observe a reality. "I think therefore I am".

The reality is many people are better when unconscious.

I figure consciousness is a function of a physical brain. One clue that this might be the case is that consciousness can be affected by injuries to the brain.
Takes a lot of injury, usually death to get reality to go away. An injured brain still has a lot of reality - pain, sight, sound, etc. Granted it might not be a ponderable reality. Even simple organisms have a limited reality. Research shows you can "scare" plants into producing stress chemicals by playing them the sound of caterpillars chewing.

One of the things that Roger Ebert said as he lay dying was "It's all a hoax! Everything is happening at the same time!"

Is time fake? Is history currently really happening in the same place that we think it "occurred" but we can't see that spectrum? Do Twinkies really last forever? I can't take too much time to ponder such things. The Empire is set to strike back in 5 days, and I need to poop.
