It's worth checking out his other videos. He has made lots of instruments out of things like scrap wood and PVC pipes. Wind instruments and so forth. Not my kind of music maybe, but I love his inventiveness and he has a fair bit of musical talent.

It stops being fun when you put someone's eye out with a flying bungee cord, but yeah it is cool.
I like the sound a lot. I'd kind of like to figure out a real tensioner and use nice climbing rope. The drumming comment is hilarious and spot-on, it's percussion more than a piano is percussion, I'll say that.
