A Real Man's Jazz Bass

I have a 4/4 DB with a string length of 44" and it's considered extremely(TOO) long by many modern players.

I don't own a 4/4 DB (just 3/4 and 7/8 -- 104-107cm scale) but I've owned a few 4/4 DBs (111-115cm scale) and never had a problem with any of them (techniqe-wise).

Technique on DB is quite different from EB. My wingspan is about 6'4" and I would have a hard time playing that beastly J

I know, Im a professional double bass player . However I'm quite convinced that I (and many other double bassists, including you) can play that giant jazz bass.

I did this today -- no kidding. I've done it before for fun. I do better standing, though!

Oh I've done it too ... it's just that when Pete Steele did it, it almost looked normal. Dude was massive.

That's a regular 34" scale Jazz on the right. Anyone have any information on the beast, such as scale length, etc?

I remember that. Was on there first home video, Black No 1 was the song? I have the Video on VHS. Have not bought it on DVD yet and no longer have a vhs player. I miss Pete and Type O. I had seen them guy live a few times. Remember when the road crew was doing mic checks the dude could'nt reach up high enough for Pete's mic, lol! Peter Steele R.I.P.
