A thread for with which to vent.

Cyclists that think traffic laws don't apply to them.

I was on my way to work, stopped at a light. The light turned green, I began moving forward... "GOOD MORNING! he cheerfully shouts as he passes an inch in front of me after blowing past his read light.

The thing was...
I was on my bicycle!
He almost collided with me because he not only didn't stop for his red light, he didn't even slow down... and he was splitting lanes - so I didn't see him coming when I looked to verify the cars to the left were indeed stopped.

"Cops pull over and ticket 26 bicyclists at once for running a stop sign." #fundraising

I know that I've bitched about it before, but after driving a big rig through Denver yesterday........

Stupid people cutting off semi trucks!

I spend a lot of time driving large dump trucks and I am constantly amazed at the stupid people that think it is a good idea to cut you off, then immediately turn without using their turn signal. Like I can stop this truck loaded with 18 tons of mud on a dime.:rollno:

If you run into an embankment, I've seen just how fast these trucks can stop. Hope it never happens to you, or anyone again.

;-/ seen some BAD semi accidents.

Truckers, I used to be a driver. Here's my stupid four wheeler story.

So there's a spot coming up a hill, a three mile climb with 4% for two miles and 6% for a mile. Well being Canada at the 6% part it drops to single lane both directions.

So I'm dragging fully loaded Super B. 140,000 lbs - 8 axles. Yep Canadian weights and a Mack truck output limited to 350hp if I remember correctly.

So this mini van is behind me and I'm down to about 20 mph, lots of traffic, and finally they get a chance to pass with about a third of a mile to go to the top. It's a van of soccer moms and the bag in the passenger seat is scowling at me, I mean making a mouth gape - head shake scowl complete with hands in the air as if to ask if I've lost my mind or something for driving so slow! Yeah lady, I LIKE driving at 20 mph on the highway. People are so stupid.

Yeah, I get that reaction all of the time.
My truck has a C12 Cat (set at 410 HP) and I run it back and forth across the Rocky mountains.
Vail Pass - 8% grade, 10,662 ft. elevation
Eisenhower/Johnson Tunnel - 7% grade - 11,158 ft. elevation
ETC.......

I can top out at 28 mph. in 7th. gear.
People flip me off regularly.
