Something like this happened to me with an envelope filter a few years back, so and I opened up the case sprayed it with contact cleaner, just like warriorjoe explained, and stuck it in front of my refrigerator. The fridge sucked all the moisture out and its much more gentle than a hair drier... still using that pedal to this day... good luck.

as everyone said..power + water = bad, but you said you had no power going into it at the time..i think someone said earlier though, when you went to test it mightve been what killed them.

hairdryer is likely to cause more bad than good..a fan is a better idea..if you have access to a dehumidifier it wouldent be a bad idea for it to sit near that thing.

The fridge thing is an awesome idea. The coils on the back condense water I think. Dehumidifier sounds cool.

But actually if you use contact or electronics cleaner you won't need anything but a reasonably warm dry place (with ventilation like out on the porch on a dry sunny day. It should be a few dollars a can and it evaporates in minutes. If you spray it dripping wet then it should displace all the water in the ICs and on the board.

I'd say get 2 cans for 3 effects units. Under $10 I am sure and probably your best bet.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I tested them about 16 hours after I had put them under a fan. I did not use a hair dryer. I am going to look for the electrical contact cleaner.

No to the filling out warranty card thing. I am not sure if that would have done any good. My brother dropped a cell phone in a toilet once and they knew right away that it had been exposed to water - therefore no warranty.

Complete side issue in regards to the company warranty card - what does this gain you? Doesn't the store receipt from where you bought it start the typical one year warranty that a store will honor? :hmm:

ime that would be considered an "act of God" (I know that name needs to be updated since it excludes those who are not Christian, Jewish but anyways). Most warranties I've dealt with do not cover natural disasters such as storms, hurricanes, etc.

That's because cell phones have a sticker in them that turns red when it's exposed to moisture. I assure you that pedals do not. I don't know if a manufacturer would be able to tell if there was water damage or not, but it's worth a try.

Also, I think a manufacturer is more likely to send you a replacement no questions asked than a store, but it depends where you bought it and if the people there are wonderful at customer service, are extremely nice or are morons (I think any of the 3 would work).

I would still replace them on warranty even if you got them working again.
