ABG-Looking for a good tapewound for this bass

If you're choice on ABG strings is based on style of music, I'm a rock player of all sorts.

It was several years ago, but I'm sure it was the yellow package. I'm in Europe though, so packaging could be different. I think EL stands for extra long. I have the standard set.

The strings have yellow silks.

The La Bella line has sets that might not require you to widen the nut slots to fit.

It sounds like I can't go wrong with the Labella or the Roto. I should have looked into this weeks ago. Unfortunately, I had more pressing matters in life. I have a gig this Friday and this is my only option if I want tapewound by Friday. Do you guys have any experience with these? I've been using daddario EXL roundwounds and they're a good string. I used to walk into my local carvin store and get a carvin set of labellas in a carvin packaging for $10, good ole days, right?

I use the D'Addario black tapes on all my fretless basses. Absolutely dead quiet when moving your hand up the and down the neck, but definitely not dead sounding like steel flats. They are even available short scale which I have on my fretted Ibanez Mikro and I would venture to say you can even get a decent slapping tone out of it. I sure wish D'Addario would make black tapes in 23" scale so I can use them on my uke basses.
