Not 100% sure if this belongs in this forum, but anyhow...
Been sitting here, reflecting on a lot of years playing for money (guess that means I've been some kind of pro, yeah?)...and it comes to mind something I've known for a while, now--although it did take me some years to figure it out.
What makes you good, as a working musician, is not so much what you can do on your instrument. It's what you know _not_ to do that you could do, that doesn't serve the song, or that doesn't work with what your bandmates are playing at that point in a tune.
