AC Adapter for Trace Elliot SMX Dual Compressor

Hi, Does anyone know the specific needs of the Trace Elliot SMX Dual Compressor pedal? I inherited one. Research shows 18volts and a reference to reverse polarity.

Looking at Reverb sold listings with good photos of the power supply in conjunction with the information found from the Ovnilab site review it requires a center negative ("standard polarity") 18v power supply with a 2.5mm barrel. Most standard boss style plugs are 2.1mm.

I recall building a voltage doubling cable to drive the old TE stomp EQ from the same series. End it off an MXR brick. That was a great EQ!

From the SM7EQ manual, the power requirements for the SMX are the same. I used to own both.

I know this is an old thread but could I replace the 2.5 PCB jack for a standard 2.1 PCB jack?

Just swapped the jack for a 2.1 Boss style and it works fine
