Acme Low B2 - 4 or 8 Ohm w/ Carvin BX1500?

I've pretty much decided that I'm going to try this rig w/ 2 b2s. Wondering which Ohm Acme b2 makes more sense. Could two 8 ohm cabs (4 ohm in series) handle 1500 watts bridged? I'm thinking not, but they say these cabs need power. Seems that the 300w each for 8 ohm in bi-amp mode might not be enough for these power hungry cabs.

Two 4 ohm cabs would use 450 w each in bi-amp mode and 750w if in series. Seems more practical, but the full power of the BX1500 could not be used.

I play bass guitar in a rock cover band but also play URB in jazz and other acoustic groups.

That head will be a good match. If you hear the drivers start to complain back off the volume a bit.

You would not bi-amp them......

Use the amp in dual mono mode.

Your amp is capable of 2Ω operation on both channels. I went with 4Ω cabinets and run them one per channel as Bass_Pounder suggests. You still have to listen for signs of distress - with 4Ω cabinets you are sending up to 450W into a 350W box. Stack the cabinets vertically for best dispersion.

I own four B2s and am able to run all four, should I so desire, from the BX1500.

4 ohm and take care of them.
+1 to vertical stacking. Using 4 of them at once is amazing.

The 4 ohm B2's here are run on QSC 2402's(700 watts available to ONE cabinet). I had asked Andy at ACME about it and he said be very careful since it's like having a 700 HP engine in a street car. Nice and fun if you're careful but wrapped around a tree if you're not.
A dbx 166XL is used before the amp with the compression set to be almost inaudible and the limiter on. Even with that, an eye is kept on the speakers(cone movement).

So... the BX 1500 is really two amps next to each other when not bridged? Can it have different loads on each side -e.g. 4 ohms on one side and 2 ohms on the other?

The amp has one pre-amp that drive two identical 750W @ 2Ω power amplifiers.
