Let's just say for discussion purposes that the 360 is the Holy Grail- its got the tone I would like to find...
But let's say that the speaker is just too much real estate and the Acoustic 402/406 will have to suffice.

Question is, between the 470 and the 220 which one is preferred and why? I know, the 370 is closest but at this time there is nothing that is on the market.... (the one on this website is spoken for)

thanks!!

I currently run a 470/406 loaded with Eminence Delta Pro 15a's for my big rig. It's a solid rig for sure and while I can hear the similarities that makes up the "Acoustic sound" I don't consider it to be close to the 360's I have heard. The 470 can have a solid clean tone and is incredibly flexible once you really take the time to understand what frequencies affect the tone and find your sound in it. The distortion circuit and trem are what keeps in it my setup. I definitely support the 470's reported 170watts at 8/4/2 ohms. I know Foxy Shazam and Screaming Females bassists both use the 220 in their set ups. I'll say 470 due to personal bias.

A 220 is similar to a 320, just not as powerful, if I remember right. I currently have a 360 stack, a 320/408, and a new 360M rig. I had a 370 but didn't like it near as much. It may have been the one I had, but it didn't have the sweetness the 360 has. I can't put it into words what that means, exactly. The 320/408 comes much closer to 360 sound than the 370 ever did, although I was running the 370 through a 408. Running it through a 301 might make a difference. Front firing 15s like are in a 406 are closer to the sound of a 408 cabinet, so I would expect both a 370 and a 320 to sound similar to what they sound like through a 408. So, given the choice of a 220 or a 470, I would go with the 220 based on what I heard out of the 370 I had and the 320 I still have as compared to the 360.
