Acoustic B200H bass head package

I was looking for a combo amp but decided on a separate head and bin combination. Guitar center has a Acoustic B200H head with a 1X15 cabinet for around 400 bucks. I'm using a Ampeg BA115 now and the Acoustic has twice the power, so it will be all I really need.
I was wondering how reliable the Acoustic head is and has anyone had any problems with it. My Ampeg has been very reliable and I'm hoping the Acoustic is too. The reviews I have read have been good but I feel that since this is a Bass Forum the input will be more honest.

Are you sure it's going to "all you really need" ?

Are you satisfied with your current combo ?

If not, doubling your watts into a similar speaker will only yeild a difference of +3db which is barely even audible.

You are not going to be twice as loud, if that is what you were thinking.

I have always been a fan of 2x10s and 1x15 in a stage rig. I personally have a 1x15 and 4x10 rig but my Acoustic rig has just a single 18(pretty sick for just an 18).I feel that gives you just the over all experience from a bass. Go for it! You don't have to spend and arm and leg either, just get another cab to round it out. Good luck.

The Acoustic B200H/B115 stack is outstanding for the $$$. And, unlike the combo, you can easily add a second cab, and use them interchangeably, i.e. buy a 4x10, and use them for different purposes, together, etc.

I say go for it :bassist:

My acoustic combo has been bullet proof. When i was looking for amps i looked at this a lot. Its only like 140 watts at 8 ohms or something like that. So you will have to have another cab to get it to the 200 watts. I ended finding a sweet deal on an Epifani head i liked.

The Acoustic B200 1x15 combo is decent sound wise, and does me just fine for practicing alone, but as mentioned above, the single 15 just doesn't get loud enough for band practice.
That is competing against a Superverb 4x10, and a loud drummer.

Where I think the B200 really shines is tone guitar tone, I have recorded this way many times. I keep the pre gain down as much as I can get by with and throw an Ohnoho Blowing Up after my guitar and it gets real gnarly.
Great doom and sludge sound, it won't fill a room on its own, but mic'ed up it is great.
