so what advice can you trow at me...... Thanks

Roll back the 2K and 5K. I played one in a GC and I was very surprised at how bright sounding it was. Too much for my taste. I am assuming this is what your are describing as a bark. You may also want to turn off or turn down the tweeters.

You do realize that's kind of like asking how people season their food. There will be considerable differences, because everyone's desired tone is different. Also, your settings would sound completely different for those not using the Trace cabs.

According to the manual, you're notching out perhaps 500Hz, but since the control isn't marked, it's hard to tell exactly where that is. They claim it's a 10dB notch, so that's pretty hefty; and we don't know how wide it is either. If the notch width is an octave, that takes out from about 250 to 750. So you're scooping mids, which are usually necessary to carry the bass well. (Remember that what sounds beautiful alone is often useless in a mix.)

You're boosting bass a bit, which isn't unusual. Those settings sound fairly neutral..

How are the tone controls on the bass? They have a major influence.

In the end, of course, the choices are yours. Whatever fits your situation and sounds good is good.

The tone on the bass is set to the middle- which i believe is basically off- on the Duff it is a bass treb cut -boost so i leave in in the middle where you can feel a little stop - i know that everyone likes it different - i mosty like blues and reagee , motown. not into the metal crazy new rock stuff and i looked at the manual but it didnt have much to offer. i was kind of hoping some of you guys with years of experience would take a look at my setting and say-- oh do this or try this - because i really just dont know... at low vol. it sounds great but when i crank it up it just aint right . thanks again
