Acoustic B200h w/B115 cab??

Well, since this is my first post here, I'll quickly introduce myself.

I'm just a 17-year old guy from extreme western Pennsylvania. Been playing bass for 4 years now and am a pretty good player, am looking forward to getting addicted to this forum!:D

Now that that's over, I was wondering if anybody has had the opportunity to try either the head with the cabinet, or the head with a different cabinet?? I listed it in my gear section because I'm planning to get one.


I haven't had the opportunity, so I was wondering if someone could give me an idea. I play mainly rock, but also some jazz here and there.

Welcome to TB first off. Its a great source of information for bass players of all skill levels.

I used to have the B200h and the B410 and I loved it. It's a great amp for the money, and if you push it it gives a nice little overdrive effect. It had a very warm vintage-y feel to it, and the dynamic shape knob can give you some nice tones. I dont know if your playing in a band setting at the moment but the drummer I play with doesn't quite get dynamics and is very hard hitting and loud. I found that it was loud enough to get over him, but it obviously doesn't have the headroom of more powerful amps. I would still have it if I didnt get such a great deal on my Gallien-Krueger rig.

My rule is buy used whenever possible, but I was in a bind and it was there. If you could save up the extra money for the 600w I would, but the 200 is a great little head.

I use the 115 and the 410 with the head. However, I had the 115 and just the head for around 3 months. And I loved the sound that they put out on their own, and that's the beauty of just owning those two is the sound is incredible. Then, later on you can just build on to it. And welcome to the TB community!

I just got this a couple months ago, it's my 3rd bass, and I'll tell you that I love it more than some Fenders and higher end Schecters I've tried. I don't know why, I just do. It's has an awesome fat tone from the active P/J pickups, and I have to say, it holds up well in a band situation(we're just getting together).

Within the next year, I plan to get a maple n black Stingray 4.:hyper:

listen, you get a bass that serves your needs and you play it to the best of your ability, it doesn't matter if it cost $5000 or $50. i have done arena shows many many times with basses that cost me $100. same with amps, although i do have more expensive tastes in amps than basses, and i hate the real low budget cabs, except for these acoustics. they're a lot better than most in their class.
