Acoustic b450 expansion or sell it.

So I've had this acoustic b450 for maybe a year now.

It's fantastic, replaced a rumble 1x15 100w

But I can't get the same 'grit' that the smaller amp would catch, with/ without the pedals or anything that I use.
For a time I had a radio slitter with effects on the b450 and the dry 15" sound I liked.
Sold it.
Now i'm "stuck" with the b450.
I did think about ripping out the b600h from the combo making my own enclosure for it and getting/building a modular 2x15....

Opinion for expansion cabs?
2x10?
1x15?

I could use the 1x15 later on for another head, with the same 2x15 modular set up.
that I am planning on purchasing, just saving up bit by bit.
Definitely an ampeg head is what my heart desires.

Looking for thoughts and criticism.

I stack my B-450 on top of a B-115 and get great results with it.

"Grit" isn't totally in nor out of the design for the Acoustic gear as it's build more in line with 'old school' thump and boom.

I can get some grit - break-up, really I feel in the mid-freqs - by turning the pre up all the way, using the effects loop with a Boss American Metal (guitar-type) stomp at "barely there" - and keep the final output to a loud roar.

I also do NOT use the HF horns at all.

Like I saw you post, you can use a B-115 with any other head you might get later on. The only caveat I have with and about them is that the fabric/material that's glued to the outside of them isn't very road worthy. It's thin and can be damaged easily.

Treated with a modicum of civility, they should last a long time. The amp itself is powerful, long lived and pretty close to military-built tough.

In the end - I tend to hoard my gear in that once I buy it - I tend to keep it --- and keep it pristine if I can.

Is that the only 15" you pared with your set up?

Would you say i'm more 'limited' to stick with that b115?

In that configuration, yes. I think the single 15" gets close in response to the twin 10s and they aren't that far off in impedance either.

I know that I lose a lot of detail in the sound with a 410 on the bottom; it might just be loss of volume - I'm not sure but I feel that it gets muddy with a 210 and a 410 running at the same time and mismatched impedance.

My thoughts are that it's NOT comb filtering, but a real loss of power and articulation.
