Acoustic bass...anyone

I've played both the Dean and the Ibanez. They are both really similar to me, but I've probably only got about 2 hours total on both instruments combined.
If you are looking for a good entry level acoustic bass I would recomend either of these... I went the opposite route and bought a cello...

I'm really loving the Epiphone "El Capitan" 4 string I got last week. Has a great tone, is fairly loud (haven't played w/ a guitarist yet), and also has a built in tuner w/ tone, volume, treb/bass knobs.

If I had to pick, the Breedlove has the best projection and tone out of any I've played. It's quality and playability surpasses it's middle of the road price-point.

Preface: I play with an accoustic guitar and a loud drummer so I go through an amp.

I can't afford any of the high-dollar ones so I started with the Michael Kelly Club Custom 4. It did me well for quite a while (a couple years).

I bought the Breedlove last Christmas because I was struck by the solid construction and the surprising projection. The neck is stable and the controls work well for me.

I won't say I wouldn't consider a higher-end AEB in the distant future but I will say I'm not entertaining any thoughts of even looking for a new AEB.

The Breedlove is way better than I am.

:D Keep practicing then. The only other AEB I'd consider is a Taylor and that comes with a pretty big price tag.

I am not sure what your budget is but I have had a number and played many more. My current one, an Emerald Guitars XB is fantastic. Because it is all carbon fiber, it is not effected by weather or humidity. It does not succumb to the level of stress that bass strings put on the top of the guitar. Here is a link:

I use a Fender Kingman as my main bass in an acoustic ensemble. It is easy to play as the neck is the same as a jazz and the action is very reasonable. It does suffer from neck dive which isn't an issue when sitting. It will have to be plugged in though, it just isn't loud enough otherwise for anything other than solo practice.

I played a couple of Ibanez acoustics, but I always thought the AEB10 was the most playable and best sounding one. It also was the acousticly loudest of the bunch. I also played a Tanglewood in the same pricerange which was very nice, don't know if it was better or worse than the AEB10 because I could not try both at the same location.
