Acoustic bass guitar strings

i need 44" long acoustic bass guitar strings. Who will make these for me or sells them? I already bought 1/4 scale stand up bass string which are too big in dia.

A couple of things.

Based on the information you provided (just the needed length; not a lot to go by), I don't believe such a string exists. You would be better served contacting string manufacturers directly. Manufacturers would be able to help you find exactly what you want, although fair warning; minimums and set ups fees can apply.

Secondly, if you get these custom strings made, are you prepared to be the only source for your customers to find strings that will fit these instruments you're making? If not, you are setting your customers up for a lot of frustration if/when they need to find strings.

Yep, I'm building one offs and when I emailed D'Addario first thing I asked is what is the minimum. If I was so lucky to sell and have a cliental specific to these, I would continuously supply the strings.

That's very true. But from experience, the large majority of players use flatwounds or tapewounds instead of the standard phosphor bronze acoustic strings, which opens up the options considerably.

Flat wound and Tapewound plugged in an amp is fine, I'm creating loud bass guitars that can compete acoustically with guitars.
And I would still have to have those manufactured at 43" as well. I personally don't like tail pieces, preferably be nice to get the longer strings, then there is no tail piece to be up-kept.
I have one of these basses with electric bass strings on it, just long scale and an ebony/padauk tail piece with no metal armature.
The guitar sounds great and pretty loud, but up next to a couple guitars would need acoustic strings. So this guitar is set up for being able to have long scale acoustic strings.
I could put some Tapewounds and flat wounds on it (I have new sets here laying around) but I personally didn't like how the tape wounds lost volume on my electric fretless bass and for sure be a volume loss on the acoustic. Only one way to know though!
Regardless, I want what I want, so I can create my vision. If it means getting one off strings then that's what's required.

As far as the 1/4 stand up bass strings go, I have a set in hand, but once I cut out the string notch's in the body of this next guitar for those fat boys to fit in,, well that guitar will always have to have those.
My concern with those 1/4 bass strings is that the guitar body needs to be deeper with more volume as opposed to the size I'm making for regular bass guitar strings.
The body's of 1/4 bass are nearly 4 times larger or more and those strings are designed for that.

They all make bass guitar and acoustic guitar strings (some do ABG) and do custom work, or have in the recent past.

Yeah, we used to make strings for Azola and a set specifically for the Baby Bass. It's been decades though; those are definitely NOS.
