Oh - fer sure I'd LOVE a Godin - just out of my price range.
Besides, I KNOW using an amp is a necessity for any ABG.
I did real unplugged with my bandmates with this ABG. Yeah, it wasn't stellar, but I was able to reasonably be heard.

this would be my recommendation. I've plated a few other Acustic bass and I'm still loving my dragon fly.

I think they come in black as well.
Check out Godin A4 basses.
Good quality,nice fat sound.
Breedlove only comes in natural?
Take a look at Takamine G series , Washburn AB10 / AB5 all are offered in black. All are nice playing basses both plugged and unplugged and can be had for under 700.00
So, it's just has to be black, huh?
If there is a Sam Ash nearby , you might be better off going there and playing one and picking it up there. Don't have to deal with any issues with the bass being less than perfect or shipping damage.
Hope it goes well you and remember .... no pics... no bass
Thinking I may go with this one. I will keep you posted. Thanks fcoda!

I've had an older G series for 5-6 years. If the newer model is anything like the older, you can't go wrong.
There's one on the bay for 350.00. Don't much care for the 3 day return though.

fcoda: Thanks for the info. I never would've know if it wasn't for you. Me loves Talkbass.
.....LOL!!!Yeah, don't mind the fact that I suggested the Takamine back in post #6...........LOL!!!
Seriously though, I think you'll like the Takamine!!![]()
If you liked it in the first place but you're just unhappy with the issues on that particular one, you should just replace it by another of the same model.
I've got an Ibanez ABG, which I choose among many other models available. Mine is a EWB30PDE, of their exotic wood series. It has a nice and warm sound, and it's quite an eye catcher too. Looking at it closely, I confess, it's not 100% flawless, but no acoustic basses I've tried are either, of any brand except higher end stuff. If you're ready to spend 1000$ on an ABG or more, you might have something near perfect. Otherwise my advice is to buy a bass you can try before buying it. I did, I'm happy. I would never order a bass...
