Acoustic fridge?

Thanks guys. I'm probably going and try to shoot for a used Ampeg i guess.
Funny thing is my Peavey TVX is bigger than any other 410 or 115 i've come across, damn near impossible to find another cab to put beneath it!

I've found that another TVX fits benneth it quite well... in fact, I'll sell you mine.

I don't think any Ampeg cab is implicitly better. Well, I'd want an 810 over a 410 for volume, but it's bigger too.

But as far as in the same size range, it's subjective.

subjective maybe, but i don't know anyone who would choose the acoustic over the ampeg when they're side by side.

i would also be careful with upgrading just for the sake of upgrading...you have built your sound and subsequently the band mix in a particular way that you are used to hearing it, as is the rest of the band. Changing up your tone/volume for a big show might actually have adverse effects...stage volume and stage tone are the two that come to mind...not saying don't get anything, just saying make sure the rest of the band can handle it, as well as yourself! you don't want any issues when opening for a sweet band in front of a lot of people!

Sounds like your just looking for an excuse to upgrade.

Opening for a national act usually means a nice size PA, with good monitors. You could play that gig with a combo amp.

You know, if you went with a properly miked B-15, they would know you must be equipped in such a fashion no "compensation" is necessary. The bassists would see you are hard core about tone, but the latter is better at getting you some action.

Thats actually a tempting proposition, and would be one hell of a stack.

We are a loud band. Me and my guitarist both are into big, old school amps. Yes i could just DI to the PA but what fun would that be? Big amps are fun and look badass.

And no i cannot afford a b-15
