Double Bass Acoustic guitar amp?

Most of those can't handle the bass frequencies very well. They end up distorting before they give you usable volume above what your bass already does. The only one I've played that works IMO is the Fishman Pro and it's way to big to drag around to gigs.

I do find however, that a good bass amp combo suitable for double bass will work very well for acoustic guitar, either nylon or steel string. You'll just need to have a reverb pedal to liven up the sound.

So you can have one amp for both instruments, but you start with the bass amp. When the option arrives, and if the desire is still there, you can later add in a smaller amp for the acoustic guitar.

Most general guitar stores have a few acoustic guitar amplifiers to choose from. I say take you bass into a few and try them out. I did this and as others have said most are not suited for stand up bass. I only found 2 or 3 that out of a dozen or so that didn't sound like they wanted to fall apart with the first note i hit. I wound up getting a fishman solo amp and it has been working great for me

Notable exceptions are the SWR Cali Blonde and Strawberry Blonde. I think the Strawberry is pretty underpowered, but works. The Cali works very well for DB, but is heavy and is not better than things that are made for us.

As someone else said, there's a long tradition of jazz guitarists using bass amps, like Polytones and the Acoustic Image heads with their favorite cabs.

Depends on what you mean, I guess.

I don't think so, the output curve is just as low-mid heavy as an electric guitar amp.

I'm using a keyboard amp at the store for testing purposes and I've been really impressed with the way everything sounds. From DBs with Realists to Yamaha electric violins and cellos, it makes a really even sound.

Uhhm, My Preamp's lid is gone, and the thing won't work anymore,
I've got no idea but, Could i just connect the 2 wires from my piezo to my output, and play like that?
My Preamp is a Shadow SH Lc4.

YogiBear, I'm not sure what you're talking about. are you in the right thread?

One amp for all? Polytones are a good choice for that. Perhaps not the best at everything, but exceptionally good at most.

You might also consider something like an acoustic image head and a variety of cabinets depending on which instrument you're playing at the time.

I'm trying to thin out my gear too. I would rather have less stuff around and really learn to use the things that I have well.
