Hi,
Since there are 2 speakon outputs, does this mean I can run two separate cabs? & if so, how will this effect the impedance of the head & cabs?

You can run two eight-ohm cabs, two four-ohm cabs or one of each. IIRC the Clarus is stable to 2 ohms.

I've run 2 - 4ohm Wizzy 12M cabs with no problem. 2ohm together. In fact it is pretty killer.

I tried a mix with a Wizzy 12M (4ohm) and an Aguilar GS112 (8ohm) and the sound was only moderately better than just one Wizzy.

Whether you daisy chain the cabs or use two speakon jacks on the Clarus, the load is the same. Two 4 ohm cabs make 2 ohms.

I have found that a pair of the regular Wizzy 12 cabs sound great together, certainly more sound than one alone.

Yes, that gives 2 ohms total, and the Clarus can handle it.

Wait, I'm confused. Are you talking about running a total of 4 cabs--that is 2 per output jack? If each daisy chained pair of cabs equals 4 ohms (i.e. each speaker is 8 ohms) that would be fine. If you tried to run 4 x 4ohm speakers this way, the total impedance seen by the amp would be 1 ohm.

I think your use of the word "channel" is throwing me off. The Clarus has only one channel, but with two parallel outputs. However you connect speakers to the amp, whether through the two outputs or by daisy chaining the cabs, you are connecting them in parallel, which has the effect of decreasing the impedance. The minimum impedance of the Clarus is 2 ohms, whether you are using one or both output jacks.

4 8 ohm cabs (2 daisy chained per side) = 2 ohm min impedance. Got it.
