Double Bass Acoustic Image repair

Officially, it's a 5-year warranty. But stories abound of Rick's willingness to take care of customers (when he can) even beyond that timeframe. Even those who admittedly broke their own amps by dropping or spilling beer on them at a gig.

The guy is, deservedly so, a customer service legend. :-)

I bought a Clarus in 2007, it's been gigged hundreds of times and on 2 separate occasions, someone tripped on a cable and jerked it out of the amp. So, broken 1/4" input on Ch 1 and no XLR input on Ch 2. Rick fixed both, no charge and upgraded a couple of components, also no charge. I didn't miss a payday as the amp was fixed and home in a week. Rick Jones is my hero.

Once again I contacted Rick to repair an Acoustic Image amp.

Some years ago I called about repairing the speaker on my teacher's AI amp. Rick sent one gratis immediately!

This time I have problems with the input jack on my own amp. Rick diagnosed it from my email and immediately sent me excellent repair directions. About 15 minute later all was fixed.

Couldn't be better customer service!

Acoustic Image has an unusually loyal fan base. My second AI amp was a Focus r2 sIII. Still have it. Also a new Clarus s4+.
I want to sell one of them but I love them both equally and differently. Small, light, powerful, and built like tanks.
The absolute best customer service in the industry. From a REAL bass player. Great products, great company.

Good day everyone,

i've got this amp for free from a friend of mine but it is not working. the plastic plate it collapsed ( don't ask me how did he do that ) in case i will manage to repair it i am writing to ask if there is a way to get that plastic part. i recently contacted A.I. and i was told by its son that the owner passed away and that the business is over.

It shouldn‘t be a big problem to make a replacement or get something similar that only needs some holes drilled.
But if it doesn’t work something might be electronically damaged (or if you are lucky only mechanically).
Screw off that damaged plate and look if there is a damaged/broken cable. If not you can measure the speakers resistance to check if it is damaged. Also check the fuse. If it seems to be OK you need an amplifier expert.

If you cannot do it yourself let a service technician have a look at it and ask the son for a schematic so something else would be able to repair it.

thank You, yes i downloaded the schematic for this model. i doubt i will be able to fix it by myself but i will try. i've seen that to remove that small plate i need a squared section allen wrench ☺

I have a focus 2R purchased in 2005 and it died about six weeks ago. I contacted Rick at AI and he said send the amp it's still under warranty. Just got the amp back today and I noticed that he upgraded several other parts for free.
This level of customer service deserves loud applause.

I've had the same experience. Marvelous service! :)
