Double Bass Acoustic sound changes from Rev Solo?

For those of you using the Revolution Solo pickup, do you notice any change in volume, tone or attack when playing your bass acoustically?

I'm wondering if I should just leave mine installed all the time or remove it when I'm not planning to plug in.

I never noticed anything like that. Then again, I never did any sort of blind test. If there is an effect, it is certainly a small one. I leave mine installed.

IMO, it's very very very slight. Hardly noticable. I think the bass gets muffled just a little bit. Take it out and it's all there. I don't notice any difference when amplified cuz I think the amp covers that loss up in a way that's hard to tell or simply that I don't find it lacking.

Gosh...yeah its like when I have tried to hear the dif with maple and aluminum adjusters on the bridge.........I think maybe I hear something :smug: And I listen to these things ALL day long EVERY day, that’s what they pay me for!

I have found in contrast to the single of the rev solo, 2 elements does have quite an acoustical hindrance but 1 still lets the bridge go +1 -1 as it rocks due to the compressibility of the rev solo being made out of spruce

Good point about the compressibility of spruce and the single element's ability to still allow side to side movement.

I'm concerned about the long-term compressibility of the pickup if it's always going in and out depending on how the bass is used.

I think it'll stay in for awhile now.

BTW, the pickup has sounded quite good at my last couple of rehearsals with a semi-acoustic blues trio. Good bottom, good detail, but not nasally or middy.
