It's been a long time since my "newbie" days, that's for sure!

well, I finally got rid of my old kay and bought a shen sb300 5/8 w/ adj bridge, swapped out my usual spirocore weich for obligato medium to get a stiffer more gut like tonal string and the action from E to G is 8mm (diameter of a cheerio or 0.314961 inch) -7mm=6mm-5mm, which i think is a medium to low height and how mcbride and brown set-up action . I'd love to get it down further like Bromberg/NHOP (easy) but I like how it sounds now so I'll just keep practicing until it feels normal to me.

follow up...i'm close to putting the weich back on the bass, they speak clearer and are easier on the fingers...reminds me of when I switched out my labella jamerson flats set on my 65 precision for thomastiks jf344 flats.
