Active pickup query

I have active pickups in my 1982 P Bass Special.
I run through an Ampeg SVT7PRO

Is there something special I need to know regarding plugging in with active vs passive pickups?

You'll get low battery live if you don't unplugg the cable

Try out the normal input on the amp first. If I remember correctly, the Ampeg has a -15dB pad on the input which is designed to reign in basses with too much output. This, however, is to be regarded as the last resort if you don't get a proper sound with the gain knob alone.

A low battery can produce distortion. Don't let the battery run too low. As el murdoque said, use the normal input if at all possible. The -15dB input in the amp is a pad and anything in the signal path can affect tone.

Been using active basses off and on since 1984. Number of times I've used the padded input for active basses: 0.
