Active preamp & pickups install

I recently purchased a Squier Classic Vibes ‘70s Jazz V. I am interested in installing an active preamp & a set of active pickups in this bass.
I am looking for suggestions!

Not my choice but EMG seem to be the go-to for active preamp/pickup combos.

Any particular reason why you're thinking active for both ? Usual method is passive pickups paired with active EQ.

How bad are the stock pick-ups and / or passive harness? You can purchase drop-in active jazz plates but the battery install may take some thought. Seriously, I'd probably trial an outboard preamp first.
