At least some of my fellow Canadians should recognize this.
It is the video version with clips from the TV show Corner Gas-in the actual episode the song ends early...
The guitar player-played by Brent Butt, is actually playing the song-and wrote it.
Before he made it as a comedian he was in a band--and this was one of their songs.
The singer--played by Fred Ewaniuk is actually singing.
So I'd say it qualifies...

Jason Schwartzman was mentioned earlier, but not with his stuff as Coconut Records (which I think is pretty good). As far as I know he performs all instruments as well as vocals.
