Actually worth watching.

Many times I find myself on Youtube watching exceptional bassists pulling of extraordinarily wanky solos ( I know....fans love it!) and kids with distortion and a week of guitar lessons posting bass "solos".

I found this kid. Playing a Zon Vinny bass with piccolo strings playing an original composition. It's a beautiful piece and his tone is exceptional compared to most videos. My only complaint is that toward the end it's like he ran out of ideas but needed to fill 3:30 worth of time.

Funny - I never was a big fan of the whole "piccolo, skinny strings, skinny tone" movement, but I strangely find myself wanting to pick up a cheap, headless bass, a reverb pedal and some piccolo-gauged strings...
