Adding a second cabinet

The wattage depends on the age of the 410HE. Some older ones were 400 watts RMS (and even lower in older models) but mine is from 1997 and it's rated at 500 watts RMS so I would assume any made after that would be the same.

yeah, i thought the older ones only did 200w. whether 400 or 500, the OP's best bet i believe would be to double his cab.

I agree, if it was me and I needed to add I would go with another 410.

First option and cheapest - tell said guitard to TTFD!!!
This is just when you are practising right? what about playing live?

Second option - add another cab will give you more volume. More suface area = more air being pushed.

3rd option - get a more efficient cab than the Ampeg you have. There plenty out there that will cut through for you with more punch and clarity. Go to your nearest bass store and have some fun...try heaps see what works better for you!

I've tried this, but our drummer is also extremely loud.

And the guitard doesn't like being quiet
