Adding a switch to a basic circuit.

Hey I want to add a on/off volume switch to a simply bass with 1 pickup 1 volume and 1 tone control.
I want the switch to simply turn on and off the total volume.
How would you do it?

You mean a killswitch, right?

A simple SPST (SPDT, DPST and DPDT work equally well) switch across the tip and sleeve terminals of the output jack is all you need.
