ADHD - Icelandic Modern Jazz Quartet type music

A bit of Sigur Ros influence is in there, as to be expected; otherwise, with the exception of the frantic bits, Australian trio The Necks have been(and continue)doing this sort of thing for over three decades. These guys’ noisier parts remind me of Soft Machine, or even Van Der Graaf Generator.

yeah they have ADHD 7 out now, being released physically soon. i got ADHD 6 on vinyl, sounds nice but those live vids capture their interplay more. i saw an interview where they said they play table tennis for 2 hours and then practice for 10 minutes at rehearsals :) lol. they said their friendship and spirit of improvisation is what drives them on, makes sense if they aren't really rehearsing the stuff.

Thank you for the heads-up. Just added ADHD 6 into my Amazon Library. No cd, just the LP ($40) or the mp3 version ($7).

At first, I was thinking ECM vibe...then it went kinda sideways. The Soft Machine. Yep.

hmm i've tried soft machine and i'm not catching the comparison. could you recommend some soft machine that is similar vibe? i would like to get into "the machine" but haven't been able to yet
