Smothered-Chicken.jpg

Well what do you know, I got peckish after all, so the arrival of my "last meal" proved most welcome.

The smothered chicken was indeed delicious; I savored every bite and am just finishing it now.

One bit of weirdness is that the guy who delivered the chicken kept saying, "Compliments of the chef" over and over again, interespersed with knowing looks, like these words should hold special significance to me.
Anyone?

David Lynch shorts staring on TCM in 5 minutes.

Outside, Axl hits a note so piercing that it knocks my wine glass to the floor.

As I bend over to pick up the shards, it all suddenly makes perfect sense. "Chef."

Of course!

Who else but that lovable rascal @Chef could have been behind such a fantastic meal?
And was the chicken leg reshaped to resemble a Telecaster Bass headstock not the broadest
hint, and best vote of confidence, that Chef could have granted me at this, the hour of my imminent release?

Chef. Good old Chef. Of course! Laughter began to rattle my chest. It fairly radiated out of me.
It quickly proved contagious to those around me.

Upon exit, I was given a suit. A dusty, worn, second-hand suit.
Anyone else ever get the suit?
Not sure who's picking me up now, as apparently my dad can't make it after all.
But dad assures me that a ride is indeed coming, and that I will be most delighted with the arrangements
my friends on the outside have made for my transport.

We'll see.

Sorry I doubted my friends for even a second -- my ride showed up and it is cooler than I could have ever hoped:
my friend Tony-Tone, who works at Universal repairing air conditioners, hooked it up for me to get picked up and
personally chauffeured home by a real movie star -- Paul Walker! He just pulled up in this fly Carrera GT.

Let me grab a picture real quick.

This is shaping up as the best day of my life.

Before we speed off, one last toast (and Paul, a double shot for you, you'll need it to pilot this rocket ship)...
