Double Bass Adjustable Saddle: worth it?

I posted a reply to a thread called "HVS height adjustable saddle: from franz moser", but didn´t get any reply to my question (the thread is old) so I try it with a new thread:

Anyone here who used this height adjustable saddle for some time and can tell me about it? how well it works, if it´s worth the price...

I have seen a bass with Mosers adjusters (see my other thread) and I think they are great, I will have them installed.

Am I really seeing screws being used through the ribs going into the endblock to mount the plate part? That would kill any interrest that I would have for sure!

yes, the screws in the photo worry me, too. but here is a quote from another thread from jonas, author of Link Removed

"The screws aren't necessary, the saddle also works without them. However, it's fits better with the screws, and the rather small holes can easily be retouched in case of a removement of the saddle."

there is also another photo on moser´s website I found just now, where it seems that there are no screws necessary, perhaps a newer model?

I like the second design much more than the 1st. There are many opportunities in DB design for improved adjustability. The saddle height adjusters are the best thing to me since bridge adjusters in theory. I'm glad to see someone improving the design. Being able to adjust the force on the table without giving up your string preference or recarving the bass can't be a bad idea.

I just got my bass back today, in case anyone is interested. Franz Moser is really a nice guy, he took a lot of time for to look at my bass and to talk about the setup, he even let me try different strings.
The final result is now that I have a new bridge with MPM adjusters and a shorter soundpost but no adjustable saddle. He actually talked me out of it, he said it´s not necessary on my bass - I think this very cool, he wouldn´t sell me something I don´t need!
The adjuster work well, it´s no effort to change the height and it doesn´t matter if one foot is higher than the other. Both feet also sit perfectly on the top all the time, which was a problem with my old bridge with conventional adjusters.
My bass is a little more quiet (not much), but the volume of the individual strings is more even which makes it easier to play, so it worked out quite nice!

About ten years later: I also noticed a conciderable better definition and louder artifical harmonics after installing an MPM adjuster from Franz Moser.

To resurrect an old thread on these adjustable saddles, does anyone have any tips or some pictures of how they installed there saddle?

I'm having issues with the entire saddle tilting towards the top and just getting it to generally sit nicely.

Any help would be awesome!

Have a look at the Moser HVU.
It has a long taillier that goes from the saddle to the endpin clutch, then back over the saddle to the tailpiece.

I have Mr Moser's adjustable saddle on my Contrabassetto. He sent me one along with a bunch of adjusters maybe ten years ago. THe adjusters (the titanium ones) are the best ever, really excellent and they allow the bridge to adjust to the top.
THe adjustable saddle is really cool too. Truth is I really need a raised saddle on this bass but I dont think I have ever used the adjustments. I use it in one position and I think I would prefer a solid ebony one made custom and may have one made. Sometimes when I try new strings I move the bar forward or back and it really does change the tension of the strings, but in truth I dont really need to adjust and would prefer to have an ebony piece in its place.
But the adjusters are killing.
