I just picked up a Diamond Bass Comp. It's the one with the EQ switch that sets the pivot point for compression. I've never owned a compressor before and any amps I've used in the past with this effect built in didn't seem to make much difference to my ears. Anyway, I am an instant convert. The Diamond is doing everything they say it will. I love the fatter sound and the smoother tone. I use a passive 4 string Jazz. My question is this; will I need to adjust the compressor pedal settings - like for an EQ pedal - for each room I play in? Or, do I just find what I like and set and forget? Second question; I like a deep bassy, Fender Precision sound, despite owning a Jazz. I never slap. Does this mean the EQ switch for me is likely to always be set to the 250 h level (rather than 900)? Cheers
