Adjusting pickup height on a JJ Spector

My Forte 4 has jazz pickups and I want to adjust the pickup height. My D and G strings are lower volume than the others, and after fiddling with the eq and changing strings, I measured the pickup height and lo and behold... the pickups are much lower on the treble side. I've loosened the screws on the treble side and the pickup case does not rise as if there were foam or springs underneath...they seem fixed to the wood. Before I execute some exploratory surgery... any tips or suggestions?

Give the pickup bodies a little tug. Sometimes they hang up on tight routes.

If the foam under the pickups is old, it may take a little time to expand or it could be permanently smooshed and may not expand at all. Try and move the pickups up like guy.n.cognito said, give it maybe overnight then, remove the pickups and check, if needed.
