If I may be so bold...

Leave the covers off - they only work with a pickguard, not with the natural woodgrain.
They may come off for the upcoming gig. Call Me Al is on the set list and I will probably need that real estate. But I do enjoy playing with these on. And a pick guard is definitely in the future. Just not sure when.

I have two of them. A green light and an amber light. Both mono. When those die, it will be a sad day!
I sold that Super to avoid such a day; it worked great but I knew Walter was getting up there and didn't want to have to deal with any potential repair or a Class D door stop. Previous to that Super that I bought new and got delivered to me in mid April '01 I had two much earlier MI100-8 amps, the first in the mid '80s, the second one in the early '00s.
