Adjusting pickups

    In this link Rex brown talks about tightening his pick ups to change his sound. I was hoping someone could better explain this to me. Thanks

    Turn left at the gopher.
    He says he “sinks them down in”. Means he lowers them.

    By lowering (or raising) them the strings excite a different area of the magnetic field of the pickup and the sound is changed. Experiment away young Skywalker.
