Conceptually, I have no problem at all with this.
I like seeing people innovate and explore limits.

Ergonomically, I would have trouble with it.
Mostly because I have recently started developing
a lot of left hand pain issues. I would love to
try the thing out, though.

I hope no one would be offended if tried it
another way, on my lap with a grooved steel
guitar slide in my left hand and a few picking
tools in the right. Palm muting. Maybe work on
Hawaiian style [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Look familiar? Dood, how are you tuning that
thang? ]

It would seem to me such an instrument would lend
itself well to exploring a world of tonal
harmonies heretofore unavailable to the serious
musician inclined to explore the unconventional.

as i said earlier, i thouroughly dig this bass. don't know if i could play it but i applaud the idea.

who really cares how many strings it has ? everyones entitled to an opinion and we all know what they say about that !

i'm amazed at how juvenile many of the responses in this thread have been.

those of you who're feeling their (obviously already questionable) manhood threatened by a unique _instrument_ enough to actually insult the idea behind it ought to be ashamed of yourselves. this isn't a guitarist forum. perhaps a dose of maturity is in order.

My answer to people who say that "...anything over x is too much" is generally, "then why doesn't everybodyjust play piano?"

For that matter, for what do we need drummers when we could just use a drum machine/sequencer? :rolleyes:

I don't think there's a whole lot to be said about this that has already been said. The greatest limitation human beings face is our own negativity and closed-mindedness - and that goes for all aspects of life, not just music. I can't believe the audacity of telling someone else what they need or don't need.
