Double Bass Advanced level piece for Bass and Viola?

I am trying to find a piece for bass and viola that is suitable for a doctorate recital for my roommate who is a violist. We have considered rearranging the Bottesini grand duo for bass and clarinet but it seems a little too bass-centric for a viola recital. I am open to pieces for other instruments as well. Thanks guys.

There's always the Gliere duets transcribed by Frank Proto for Bass and viola (or violin). Or were you looking into larger-scale pieces..?

This wont be a main piece on the recital so it doesn't need to be over the top, just worthy of a doctorate level recital. Thanks for the suggestions. Time for some research.
