So my band also wants to play some acoustic stuff. Contemplating on buying an electro acoustic bass but i'm on a budget. Doesn't have to be top of the line. Im thinking about a Fender CB-60SCE. Any thoughts on this bass, or recommendations for other basses in the same rough price range?

Volume is your greatest problem with an AEB.
Find a deal on a used Spector Timbre. They make short scale, but my long scale works with the guys I've done it with.

I have the fender cb-100ce. They are discontinued now but I like it. To me it's kind like a inexpensive clone of a Martin acoustic which are nice but too expensive imo unless acoustic stuff is your main deal. Paid under $300 used for it but I can't remember exactly how much. $280 or something like that.

If you think you're going to be heard acoustically with an ABG, forget it. They just aren't loud enough without amplification. And since you need to amplify, use the bass you alread own. The only good reasons for owning an ABG is "it has the look" and you really want that specific amplified sound.
When it comes to solid-body basses, I'll recommend quite a few, but when it comes to acoustic basses, my only recommendation is the Dean Exotica, older models with the Aphex System electronics...usually $250 to $350 used.
They must be good, I own three!

(By the way, I believe in the MTV Unplugged school of thought...plug in! Seriously, it takes only half a minute or so. Playing outside? Buy a battery-powered amp. I use mine all spring and summer long.)

Here is a little demo of my Spector Timbre (long scale with Elixir 80/20 String. We were just sitting in the kitchen with our singer, one Takamine, and a Martin recording on an I phone. A little crude, but at least a demo of the Spector's capability.

If you are just jamming with friends, an acoustic bass guitar can work nicely. I you have an audience, they quickly fail. It takes a big body to project volume at bass frequencies. Even upright bass players frequently use amplification to be heard at a gig if playing piz.
