Advice on using Acapella App (sound quality)

Anyone have experience using the Acapella App? It's dead simple but only runs on iOS and uses the devices built in mic. Any success in getting a direct input to work to improve the sound quality? I'm guessing I need an iRig type interface but they are hard to find these days. I have a couple of USB audio interfaces but haven't been able to get them to connect.

I have an Alesis IO DOCK and I can't get my bass to play in stereo..

I had a similar problem using a simple DAW app but, I was able to go in anc mess with some settings and turn on the monitor and it worked.

I was going to purchase a newer interface but, I see ppl still have issues.

With Accapella I don't see where you have much control. Uggghhhh... an dnow my payment kicked in...lol

My experience with the acapella app is similar (hard to get good tone). I'm looking to get the iRig or some other interface for future recordings.

My initial attempt took a few tries and ended up with the phone sitting directly in front of my amp and my EQ tweaked...pushed all the lows I could.

Sounds Great!!!

My issue is I wanted my bass direct so I can play and not bother anyone and also not have to worry about my Amp Tone dialed in at 1 or less.....lol

My old Alesis IO DOCK isn't working I might pony up for another interface
