Advice please

Awhile back I asked what was 'more' important, a quality bass or quality amp. The consensus seemed to be the amp.
So my question now is how much have amps changed over the years. I have an old Peavey Microbass (roughly 20 yrs. old). It's plenty loud for my needs, but it does hiss and moan at times. I've been looking at the Line 6 models, they are sexy. But will I gain that much? I have a Zoom B2, so I have plenty of sound options. I'm not rich and I don't plan on playing out, so should I just stick with the Micro? What would you do?
Thanks.

I can't comment too much on your Peavy. The hissing and moaning might be the bass or it just might be showing its age and alot of people use 20 year old amps with no prob, but repairing an amp is tricky and you can easily spend more money than it's worth trying to fix it. It might be time for an early Xmas present. The line 6 stuff is pretty good... depending on what you want. They come with built in effects and modeling which would make your Zoom kind of unnecessary. How much wattage do you need?
