Advices about bridge upgrade…

Hello you all!

I am looking to upgrade the bridge on my Squier Affinity Series Jazz Bass V.

Searching for different options on the market I noticed that this particular model has a 5 screw hole bridge but almost any 5 string bass bridge that I found out has 6 holes!

I’ll drop some pictures in order to be more specific.

I assume that this has been discussed on TB before and this beautiful community has the knowledge of 5 screw hole bridge for 5ers bass alternatives so please show me the light!

Looks pretty good to and I'm hard-pressed to justify a bridge upgrade ($$) in most cases. IOW, nothing wrong with bent-metal. Couple of suggestions:

*Make sure each saddle is parallel to the base plate. Don't tilt in an attempt to match the FB radius.

*If unstable or prone to slippage, we have a fix for that.

I've had milled brass from ABM Germany, Babicz FCH & Badass, Bent Bit of Tin, strips of Corian from Wishnevsky and generic from China, Dano rosewood strips and metal saddles, floating bridge designs, Gotoh, Headless units, Hi-Mass and Hipshot, Kahler bridges, Mono saddles Schaller 3D, Tune o Matic and those crazy Traben PG/Bridge combos.

No matter what was used, the bass still sounded like a bass 😄

I recently upgraded a Fender Jazz 60's Vintera bridge. The original was a "vintage" bridge that I didn't like at all... had tiny flathead screws for saddle height adjustment. The Fender HiMass fit it perfectly... and now all is right in the world. The HiMass is obviously a superior bridge to the original.

Same here, except for the two aluminum bridges I’ve tried. Hipshot A and a Badass style. I didn’t like them. Some do so it’s obviously my hang up, but I think they reduce the oomph level.
